How to edit an AI LinkedIn draft in 5 minutes
A five-step edit pass that turns an AI-written LinkedIn draft into something you'd actually sign your name to.
Minute 1: fix the first line
Read only the first line. Would you say it out loud to a colleague? If not, rewrite it as the most specific true sentence in the post. Hooks are covered in depth in LinkedIn hooks for founders.
Minute 2: add one fact only you know
A date, a number, a customer's exact words, the name of the tool that broke. AI can't invent this without lying, and it's the detail readers remember.
Minute 3: delete the filler
Cut “in today's world”, “it's important to”, “let's dive in”, and any sentence that starts with “Ultimately”. Cut lists that have three vague items.
Minute 4: check the ending
If it ends with a question, make sure it's one you'd want answered. If it ends with a moral, make sure the post earned it.
Minute 5: read it on your phone
Paste it into a note on your phone and read it there. Bad line breaks and walls of text are obvious on a small screen. Then post — and don't keep editing after it's live.
